A Secret Ingredient Boosts the Nutrition of This Pomberry Smoothie

This perfectly pink smoothie packs a protein punch thanks to an unexpected ingredient — cottage cheese. With the same creamy consistency as a yogurt smoothie, subbing in cottage cheese adds more protein without sacrificing texture.

The hemp hearts also give this pomberry smoothie a nutrition boost. If you don’t have hemp hearts, feel free to use chia seeds or ground flax seeds instead.

Although the recipe doesn’t call for it, we say topping the smoothie with pomegranate seeds and a sprinkling of hemp hearts gives the smoothie a nice crunch.



Pomberry Smoothie

Ingredients
1 cup frozen berry mix (raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, strawberries)
½ cup 2% cottage cheese
¾ cup 100% pomegranate juice
1 tablespoon hemp hearts
4–5 ice cubes

Method
Add all ingredients to blender. 

Pulse on high until ice is fully blended and a smooth consistency is reached. 

Transfer the mixture to a glass and serve immediately.
