Slow Cooker Hot Ham Sliders

These hot ham sliders are a fan favorite thanks to the layers of meat and melty cheese you can’t help but love. And they’re a cook’s favorite thanks to trusty store-bought Hawaiian rolls slathered in butter and the ease of how they come together and are served.

Whether you’re a fan of the NFL, college football or just came for the food, these sliders are a win-win-win for your next tailgate or watch party!

Turn on the slow cooker for at least an hour before heading out and these hot ham sliders will stay warm for up to three hours. If you have electricity at your tailgate site, store pre-assembled hot ham sliders in the cooler and bring the butter sauce on the side. Stack and heat sandwiches throughout the festivities to keep everyone satisfied.

What to pair them with:

Pair our hot ham sliders with our kale and parmesan pasta salad for a truly terrific tailgate party! This hot and cold combo is game-time ready all season — whether it’s a sweltering first game of the season or a late night December match-up.

Even more game-day food:

You’ll want to add our hot ham sliders to your regular rotation, but we have even more tailgating recipes to keep you going all season long.

Slow Cooker Hot Ham Sliders
Start to finish: 1 hour 10 minutes
Impresses: 12

Ingredients
12 Hawaiian rolls
1 pound ham lunch meat, thinly sliced
½ pound pepper jack cheese, sliced
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
½ teaspoon garlic salt
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon poppy seeds

Method
Coat a large slow cooker with cooking spray. Slice each Hawaiian roll in half horizontally. Layer a thin piece of ham on roll bottom, followed by a quarter slice of pepper jack cheese. Repeat layers. Cover with roll top and repeat with all rolls.

In a small bowl, whisk together butter, garlic salt, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard and poppy seeds.
Place an even layer of sliders (roughly half) in the bottom of prepared slow cooker. Brush with half of butter mixture.

Cover the first row with aluminum foil and coat liberally with cooking spray. Place a remaining layer of sliders on top of foil and brush with remaining butter mixture.

Cover slow cooker with lid and cook on high for 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until sliders are heated through and cheese is melted.
