Easy Baked Chicken Wontons with Jalapeño Cream Cheese Filling
/There’s something comforting about baked dishes with cream cheese filling, and these baked chicken wontons are no exception. Cheesy, melty but also crunchy, and with a nice touch of spice, look no further to complete your appetizer lineup for a crowd.
While we love jalapeño cream cheese for this recipe, picking a different flavor is a great way to customize your baked chicken wontons.
Other (equally yummy) filling flavor options include:
Garlic and herb cream cheese
Chive and onion cream cheese
Garden vegetable cream cheese
Plain cream cheese
Another perk about this chicken wonton recipe is how easy it is to double (or triple) if you’re cooking for a larger crowd.
Most rotisserie chickens come with several cups of chicken once you start shredding, and most packages of cream cheese and shredded cheese also come with more than what this recipe calls for.
If you’re cooking for game day, a house party or family gathering, consider these customizable chicken wontons a must!

Easy Baked Chicken Wontons with Jalapeño Cream Cheese Filling
Start to finish: 45 minutes
Impresses: 6
Ingredients
½ cup shredded rotisserie chicken or chicken wing meat, removed from the bone and shredded
½ cup flavored cream cheese (we love jalapeño for this recipe)
¼ cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
16 wonton wrappers
Method
Heat oven to 400 F, and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
In a medium-sized bowl, stir wing meat, cream cheese and Monterey Jack cheese to combine.
Place 1 teaspoon cream cheese mixture onto the center of a wonton wrapper. Dip your finger in warm water and brush water onto 2 edges of the wrapper. Close to form a triangle and press the edges together to seal. Place on prepared baking sheet and repeat to fill all wonton wrappers.
Coat the tops of the wontons with cooking spray and bake 12–15 minutes, or until brown and crisp. Serve with dipping sauce of choice. (We love a classic buttermilk ranch dip!)
